After a nearly sleepless night, I’ve made it to Belize. My parents flew from Phoenix to Houston via Los Angeles and my best friend flew from San Francisco to Houston via Las Vegas. I was lucky enough to get a direct flight from Seattle to Houston. Once there we flew on to Belize City before catching a puddle jumper (prop plane) to Caye Caulker. Although we were beyond tired, we gathered our strength, had lunch, and then donned our swimming suits for some swimming and snorkeling from our hotel’s dock. The Caribbean Sea was so inviting. It was just what we needed.
Now it’s 8:30pm here, but only 6:30pm at home, yet we’ve been in bed for at least an hour. We obviously need to catch up on some of the sleep we missed last night. We have grand plans for the rest of the week.
On another note…
My dad did not enjoy the flights and by the time he made it to Houston he was ready to go back home. He was only on Caye Caulker about an hour before he asked “so, when do you think you are going to buy a place down here” and “if you get empty property and you can fly me down here with only one stop, I’ll doing the construction for you”. I guess he’s liking it now that he’s here.
