Does anyone else enjoy sitting inside, under a warm blanket, with the fireplace roaring on a stormy day?  I’m pretty sure I’m not alone.

Today is a blustery day in Western Washington.  Low clouds, constant rain, and relentless wind.  My plan was to get some writing done at Starbucks this morning…one of my favorite places to write.  But, plans change.  I had just got my tea and was sitting down to write when the power went off.  I thought about staying, but I knew it was likely that the power was still on at my house since the power lines are buried in our neighborhood.  So, I packed everything up and headed home.

Since then I’ve been snuggled up on my couch with my laptop and two furry children, who like their “mom” enjoy a good warm blanket and fire on days like today.

I should probably be irritated by the weather since I had plans to take photos and prepare my garden for winter this afternoon.  But, I’m not.  I’m actually enjoying being inside.

Besides, I might even get my inside chores done…or not.
